Mid tempo run through Potrero Hill today. Did some climbing on Connecticut and Wisconsin Streets. My left knee is bothering me and is tender to the touch. It started after my 16 mile run last Sunday. It is probably runner’s knee. Interestingly enough the iliotibial band hasn’t been a problem as of late and I […]

Just a short run this morning. Sort of like a recovery run but, a day late. Felt crap. It is supposed to be well over 100 degrees in Sacramento this weekend and our friend who was going to split the canoeing with K. is ill so it is looking like I’m going to skip the […]

Starting to feel more comfortable with the slightly longer distances for my regular run. I hope to squeeze in a few more long runs on the upcoming busy weekends. The race next weekend will give me some idea of my 8K time which should in turn give me an idea of my potential half marathon […]

I decided this morning that someone should create a Fugly style blog devoted to fugly houses after seeing some house victims of the color blind this morning. Purple trim on a light beige house was the worst offense I witnessed this morning. There were other examples but I quickly blocked them out of my mind […]

Went out with my camera today and stopped often to take pictures. I was trying to get sweeping vistas from on top of Potrero Hill but unfortunately, my little digital Canon PowerShot SD110 doesn’t do so well with the wide angles and distance. There were some good shots in the bunch though. Lots of construction […]

Oh the hills. I don’t know why I picked hills for only my second day back. Something I read about hills helping to stretch muscles out. The only problem for me is coming back down. I’ve forgotten how to be spry and not slap the pavement with my feet. For some reason the 118% incline […]

Ran back from the auto shop after dropping Fritz the car off. Here is a map of my run thanks to my Garmin Forerunner and GPS Visualizer. More on that in the future. My right knee felt better before the run but going down hill was painful.

The GPS unit didn’t want to work today and even when it did get signal it did not accurately record my milage. I think I only ran around 2 miles but up and down the hills of Potrero after dropping my car off on 10th and Harrison.

Hills, hills and more hills. Shoes felt a little tight today with the thin socks I bought. DeHaro is an unforgiving hill.

Short on time so I ran hills today. Specifically, up Deharo then Rhode Island Ave. Felt a little tight in the achilles but made it up the hills in good time.
