Stupid Swedes. Stupid Fartleks. I only managed to get through 3x 2 mins at a fast pace instead of the target 5. After about 3 miles my left leg started to cramp up. I tried to jog then run then stretch then jog through it but, I ended up walking a good chunk of the last mile. Seems like whenever I have 4 in 5 days of over 4 miles I have pain that stops me. This is not exactly encouraging since I just registered for the half-marathon here in July (see the side bar for a list of my potential upcoming races). The source of the pain is concentrated in a spot just above my ankle and below my calf muscle on the outside of the leg. It makes the entire leg cease up and feel like stone. I’m icing it down right now and I’ll take a rest day tomorrow. If it is not better by Thursday then perhaps I’ll cycle instead.
